Today, March 20th, is Mr. Rogers‘ Birthday – as well as “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” Day.  One of Pittsburgh’s most famous icons entertained America as its friendliest neighbor for decades.  Fred Rogers was a HUGE force in Childhood Development and Educational Television.  His “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood” program is the longest ever to run on public television, and it has no doubt influenced generations of Americans.

“Imagine what our real neighborhoods would be like, if each of us offered as a matter of course, just one kind word to another person… One kind word has a wonderful way of turning into many.”

Seems like this Fred Rogers quote could be geared toward the Pittsburgh Small Business Community:

• Think of ways to demonstrate to your customers that you care – about a cause, the neighborhood, the city, the region, etc.
• Come up with one or two new ideas to give your current/future customers more value – something to give that extra personal touch
• Learn about the other businesses in your area or neighborhood – how can you help, how can you partner, and how can you ALL thrive?
